Weather: sunny, clear and quite cool Remarks: Apologies to readers who were disappointed last week when they didn't find an update. We did go out in search of sales, but in several hours of driving around we only managed to find a single sale. Gail bought some fabric for 50 cents at that sale, but she was the only one who made a purchase. I didn't update the page, not realizing that readers were left wondering what happened. My apologies, in the future I'll try to update, even if it is just to say we came up empty handed. Note: due to the Thanksgiving holiday we are not planning to hunt cuuh next week. Today we found 2 sales, not bad for mid-November!
Amount Spent: $5.00
Felix is helping to ready this week's cuuh for photographing.
A very nice Korean-style stove top grill. We bought a cheap one at a garage sale a couple of years ago and used it a couple of months ago (for the first time) to make some Korean style barbecued beef. The grill was made of such thin metal that we destroyed the grill by the time we were done. The metal got so hot it warped and the barbecue sauce was fused to the top of the grill and there was no way to clean it off. The beef cooked up just fine and was very tasty, but the grill got tossed. We figured we'd look for a better one, and today we found it. This one has a stainless steel water ring (the bottom part), and a very heavy, non-stick grill surface. It is much, much heavier than the one we destroyed and it looks like it will actually hold up to use. Just what we were looking for!! The seller was asking $8 originally, Joe talked her down to $5, a much better price.
Weather: sunny, coolRemarks: not a lot of sales today, but that was ok because we didn't have a lot of time to shop. Gail and Mick were heading for Salida this afternoon to visit some friends.Amount spent: $2.75
- black plastic CD rack (didn't photograph well)-50 cents
- painted slate plaque (birthday present for Gail)-$2
- basket of small plastic clothespins-25 cents
And where is Felix? The paltry amount of cuuh didn't hold his interest and he wouldn't pose with it because he was busy rubbing on Joe's legs in the hope that Joe would realize he was desperatly thirsty for milk
